No spiccato :(

Bummer, turns out that I didn’t get to learn spiccato last night. After my first introduction to 3rd position last week, and playing it very well for my teacher last night, she decided to give me a really tricky exercise involving play a note in 1st position, the same note in 3rd position and then playing that note as a harmonic, then switching to doing it again on different notes at a quick pace. I think that will keep me busy.

Turns out that some of the free books that came with my violin were actually worth a bit as some of the AMEB books normally cost about $35 each and I now have 4 of the books. πŸ™‚

Been looking online for a metronome to buy lately because I don’t like using the one on my digital piano or on the iPad. I didn’t know the nicer looking mechanical metronomes are quite pricey. For some reason it seems people who don’t play music like to collect them as antiques. Doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe it’s just eBay.
