I received my Animelo Summer Live 2009 tickets!

Previously, I spent some time searching for any events I could go to during August. One of the events that caught my eye was an anime music festival called Animelo Summer Live. I hadn’t heard of it before, but according to the website, it goes over 2 days with lots of famous anime song singers who sing up to 40 songs for each of the 2 days!

Since I haven’t been to an event like this before, I wasn’t too sure about what it would be like. Well, even in Australia, I haven’t been to any concerts before. Anyways, I decided to check out last year’s event on YouTube, and I have to say, it looks really incredible!

When I saw the YouTube video, it way better than I imagined. So, I ended up looking into how I could get my hands on some tickets to the concert. Apparenlty, I need a Japanese address and a credit card to buy some tickets, so that was a problem already. I ended up doing a search on Yahoo Japan Auctions for some tickets, and luckily found some tickets online. I ended up bidding on and winning the tickets to both of the days of the event.

Normally the tickets are presold via a lottery system and then followed up with regular ticket sales, however, it seemed that neither system catered for overseas people eager to attend the event. So in the end, I ended up paying much more than the normal price of the tickets.

I was quite worried about buying tickets from an auction site, but I received my tickets safely last week, and am quite relieved it all worked out.

One of the tickets is for an arena seat, so I know I’ll definately be enjoying the event with a great view of the stage.

I bought it from Yahoo Auctions.. and paid about 15,000 yen per ticket. It normally is about 8,500 yen a ticket. I just watched the first day of it in the arena seat yesterday and it was really awesome. Actually about to leave to see the 2nd day now.
